New Lenox Martial Arts Students Bring Home Medals!

On Saturday, September 25th, students from Tiger Kwon’s Martial Arts Academies in New Lenox and Mokena, IL entered into the Michigan Cup Championship and challenged themselves against competitors from all over the country. After months of hard work, several of these students brought home Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals. Students who competed included:

  • Caleb Boykin: Gold in Breaking, Silver in Sparring, and Bronze in Forms
  • Daniel Lim: Gold in Breaking, Bronze in Sparring
  • Tony Maldonado: Gold in Sparring
  • Erick Miranda:  Gold in Breaking
  • Alejandro Ruiz: Gold in Sparring, Silver in Breaking
  • Benjamin Ruiz: Gold in Sparring, Silver in Breaking
  • Dante Smith : Silver in Forms, Bronze in Sparring
  • Brandon Smith: Silver in Sparring, Bronze in Forms
  • Jimmy Pniewski : Gold in Sparring, Bronze in Breaking
  • Lauren Cade: Bronze in Breaking
  • Scott Hopkins: Bronze in Sparring

The masters, instructors, and families are very proud of the hard work that all of the students have put in over the last few months. Master Kwon says, “I have trained hundreds of children, adults, and families in the Lincoln-Way area, and at every event, I am always impressed with the dedication and hard work of our students. They truly are potential world champions. After all Taekwondo is the only martial art that is an official Olympic sport.”
